Calella is one of the three beaches that Palafrugell has, located in the Province of Girona. Calella de Palafrugell is in the region of the Baix Empordà, the coast of which is known as "Costa Brava".
The town of Palafrugell has a good selection of shops and a great market is a ten minute drive inland. Amazingly well preserved medieval villages of Peratallada, Begur and Pal are all around 20 mins drive. Girona 40 mins, Barcelona 1½ hour drive. Some of the best restaurants in the Costa Brava can be found within a half hour drive
From Calella you can get to some other paradise-like beaches (walking, by boat, or by car). Aigua Xelida, Cala Marquesa, La Pedrosa, El Cau or so many other places that are unforgettable are just some minutes away from Calella de Palafrugell.
Things to do in Calella de Palafrugell
Mountain bikes can be hired locally and the coastal path provides a great walk for families or experience hikers alike. There are 2 dive schools in Calella who can organise Padi course or snorkelling and one in Llafranc.
Close to Calella de Palafrugell, the towns of Llafranc, Tamariu and Begur, have a great deal of restaurants and other cool places to visit and have fun.
A great base for our golfing holiday, with plenty to do for players and non players alike.
